Policies

Contact Electrical is very aware of its responsibilities to its employees, the community at large and our precious environment. The following policies outline our commitment.
 

OH&S Policy:

Obligation:
Management is firmaly committed to a policy enabling all work activities to be carried out safely, and with all possibe measures taken to remove (or at least reduce) risks to the health, safety and welfare of employees, contractors, authorised visitors, and anyone else who may be affected by our operations.

we are committed to ensuring we comply with the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1195, the workplace Health and Safety Regulations 1998 and applicable codes of practice and Australian Standards as far as possible.

Responsibilities:
Management will provide and maintain as far as possible;
- a safe working environment
- safe systems of work
- plant and substances in safe condition
- facilities for the welfare of employees
- information, instruction, training and supervision that is reasonably neccessary to ensure that each employee is safe from injury and risks to health
- a commitment to consult and co-operate with employees in all matters relating to health and safety in the workplace
- a commitment to continually improve our performance through effective safety mangement 

Employees:
Each employee has an obligation to;
- comply with safe work practices, with the intent of avoiding injury to themselves and others and damage to plant and equipment
- take responsible care of their own health and safety and the health and safety of others
- wear personal protective equipment and clothing where necessary
- comply with any direction given by management in realation to healy and safety
- not misuse or interfere with anything provided in the interest of health and safety
- report all accidents and incidents on the job immediately, no matter ho trivial
- report all known or observed hazards to their supervisor or manager

Environmental Policy:

Purpose and scope:
National Electrical and Communications Association members are committed to conducting their activities in a way that protects the environment and the health and safety of employees, clients, and the community.

Our policy is to:
- make environment management a part of business decisions
- apply best industry practices to ensure that health and safety performance is amongst leaders in the management of electrical trade activities
- comply with relevant State and Federal legislation as appropriate to business staying ahead of industry expectation
- strive for continual improvement in environmental management performance by setting and reviewing achievable objectives and targets
- maintain effective emergency response systems
- use resources efficiently and minimise waste and emissions
- train and motivate employees to work in a responsible manner
- communicate openly with government, local governments, clients and the community on environmental policies and performances
- provide information and advice on safe and responsible use of chemicals, plant and equipment
- provides effective environmental management systems to protect flora and fauna and the integrity of the natural landscape
